Police in Langley are looking to reunite a sizable amount of cash with its owner.
In a news release, Langley RCMP spokesperson Sgt. Zynal Sharoom said the cash was turned into the Langley detachment on Saturday, March 15.
An investigation discovered the cash was found almost two months ago — on Jan. 22 — in the 7200-block of Springbrook Road.
"We are hoping to reunite these funds with the rightful owner," Sharoom said in the release.
"We are asking the rightful owner to come forward and explain themselves in detail so that the monies can be returned to them."
Langley RCMP noted the public is asked not to contact the detachment and guess the amount in hopes of getting the cash. Making a false claim is a crime, they said.
The owner of the cash is asked to contact the Langley RCMP at 604-532-3200 and quote file number 2025-7527.
