Although not , Mount Pleasant has yet again solidified itself as one of the city's most renowned places to live.
Dubbed by an online poll over the summer, another ranking recently took a more positive spin, calling Mount Pleasant . The list includes 49 neighbourhoods and was created by travel and hospitality publication Time Out earlier this week. Informed by 27,000 city-dwellers, the ranking took into account “cool stuff, but also kind stuff, forward-looking stuff.”
Mount Pleasant came in at number 40, just behind Central Square in Cambridge, Massachusetts but ahead of the picturesque neighbourhood of Jamestown in Accra, Ghana.
Looking for the absolute coolest neighbourhood in the world? You'll have to head to Nørrebro in Copenhagen.
Time Out writes of Mount Pleasant’s historic brewery boom and its current craft beer scene.
“It’s easy to hit half a dozen tasting rooms in an afternoon on foot,” Time Out writes. “The otherwise nondescript industrial and office buildings of this ever-evolving area are festooned with multi-storey murals, while its classic brick warehouses and storefronts are home to great vintage stores, galleries and artists’ studios.”
Also getting a shout-out: Dude Chilling Park and its storied sign.
The minds at Time Out also planned out the perfect way to spend a day in Mount Pleasant. First, you start with a peanut butter and jelly doughnut and a locally roasted coffee at 49th Parallel and Lucky's Doughnuts, then stroll down Main Street visiting the various breweries and finish off the evening with some cocktails at The Narrow Lounge or catch a show at the Fox Cabaret.
