Olympic gold medal swimmer Maggie Mac Neil and thriller writer Linwood Barclay are among the panellists set for C小蓝视频 Radio鈥檚 annual book battle, 鈥淐anada Reads.鈥
The four-day debate over the year鈥檚 must-read returns March 17 with host Ali Hassan presiding over the theme, 鈥淥ne Book to Change the Narrative.鈥
Mac Neil of London, Ont., will champion Samantha M. Bailey鈥檚 psychological thriller 鈥淲atch Out for Her,鈥 while Toronto's Barclay backs Wayne Johnston鈥檚 鈥淛ennie鈥檚 Boy,鈥 which nabbed the Stephen Leacock Memorial Medal for Humour in 2023.
From Vancouver, 鈥淗eartland鈥 star Michelle Morgan takes on 鈥淓tta and Otto and Russell and James鈥 by Emma Hooper, while Calgary pastry chef and neuroscientist Sa茂d M鈥橠ahoma has 鈥淒andelion鈥 by Jamie Chai Yun Liew.
Vancouver podcaster and wellness advocate Shayla Stonechild will champion 鈥淎 Two-Spirit Journey鈥 by Ma-Nee Chacaby, with Mary Louisa Plummer.
One book per day will be eliminated until a winner is declared March 20.
