小蓝视频's number of COVID-19 hospitalizations has jumped by 47, or more than 17%, to 321 in the past three days, the 小蓝视频 government announced today.
Of those, 36 people are in intensive care units (ICUs), which is a net total of one additional person compared with Friday.
The government has cut back on sharing much data, such as the number of active infections and numbers of people who have recovered. Ministry of Health representatives told Glacier Media in March that the government would this month shift to providing data on a weekly instead of daily basis.
It is not known how that shift to less data reporting is going to go. No figure for new COVID-19 deaths was provided today, and the government said that the next day in which COVID-19 deaths will be provided will be in three days, on April 7.
The government knows of 728 new COVID-19 infections in the past three days, for a total of 357,500 cases since the first infection was detected in January 2020.
One new outbreak at a health-care facility is at Burnaby Hospital. In total, 10 health-care facilities or seniors' homes have active COVID-19 outbreaks.
Vaccinations help limit the spread of the disease that spawned a multi-year global pandemic, and help to reduce the seriousness of infections that do occur.
The vast majority of British Columbians are already vaccinated, and new vaccinations are ongoing. In the past three days, 489 residents received their first dose of vaccine, while 3,530 received their second doses, and 6,240 received third doses of vaccine.
In total, 4,529,623 eligible 小蓝视频 residents have had at least one dose of vaccine, while 4,357,946 are considered fully vaccinated with two doses, and 2,675,686 have had three doses.
Recent Statistics Canada data counted 5,000,879 residents in 小蓝视频
Glacier Media's calculation therefore is that more than 90.5 per cent of 小蓝视频's total population has had at least one dose of vaccine, and more than 87.1% per cent of the province's total population has had two doses. More than 53.5 per cent have had their third, or booster doses. •
