NEW YORK (AP) 鈥 Cecilia Vega, more recently A小蓝视频鈥檚 chief White House correspondent, is joining the CBS TV newsmagazine 鈥60 Minutes.''
Bill Owens, executive producer of 鈥60 Minutes," called Vega a 鈥渟ensational reporter and storyteller,鈥 in the Thursday announcement. Vega said in the statement that the appointment was a 鈥渄ream come true.鈥
Vega will start at ratings leader 鈥60 Minutes鈥 in the spring as a correspondent.
Vega has led A小蓝视频鈥檚 White House coverage since President Joe Biden won the 2020 election. Before that, she was A小蓝视频鈥檚 senior White House correspondent covering the Trump administration. Also at A小蓝视频, Vega was the lead reporter for Hillary Clinton鈥檚 2016 presidential campaign
Her work has been broadcast on all A小蓝视频 News platforms, including 鈥淕ood Morning America,鈥 鈥淲orld News Tonight with David Muir,鈥 鈥淣ightline鈥 and 鈥20/20.鈥
Vega joined A小蓝视频 News in 2011 as a Los Angeles-based correspondent. Before that, she was a reporter for A小蓝视频鈥檚 KGO-TV in San Francisco. She got her start as a print reporter, most recently at the San Francisco Chronicle.
