Health officials report three more COVID-19-related deaths in Prince Edward Island

CHARLOTTETOWN — COVID-19 has claimed the lives of three more people in Prince Edward Island during the past week. There have now been 49 COVID-19-related deaths in the province since the onset of the pandemic.

CHARLOTTETOWN — COVID-19 has claimed the lives of three more people in Prince Edward Island during the past week. 

There have now been 49 COVID-19-related deaths in the province since the onset of the pandemic.  

The latest deaths involve a person between the ages of 60 and 79 and two people who were 80 or older.  

The latest case data says there are 41 patients in hospital with COVID-19 — up from 19 last Tuesday.  

Health officials are reporting 1,706 new cases in the last seven days, or an average of 244 cases per day.  

There are COVID-19 outbreaks at the Hillsborough Hospital, Prince County Hospital, Souris Hospital, and at three long-term care or community-care facilities.
