FREDERICTON — Health officials in New Brunswick are reporting four more deaths linked to COVID-19 in the province’s latest weekly report.
The death count is one less than the previous week and brings the total number of deaths as a result of the disease to 447 since the beginning of the pandemic.
The report says the number of hospital admissions for novel coronavirus also decreased by one to 39 in the past week.
Meanwhile, Correctional Service Canada is reporting a COVID-19 outbreak at the maximum-security Atlantic Institution in Renous, N.B.
Officials say 17 inmates have tested positive for the virus at the prison, which has a capacity of 331 inmates.
They say measures have been put in place to minimize the spread of the virus while COVID-19 testing is being offered to inmates and staff.
