A 小蓝视频 judge has given a woman a restraining order to stay away from her ex-boyfriend after a fight at a 2024 Billy Idol concert.
Christa Laine Birk, 43, appeared before Vancouver Provincial Court Judge Katherine Denhoff on April 4 and admitted her ex had reason to fear her.
Crown prosecutor Liza Stafford said the couple got into a scuffle at the July 30 Billy Idol concert, leaving the man with a black eye, swollen nose and scratches to his face.
At one point, a water bottle was thrown, Stafford said.
He gave Birk the keys to his apartment. When he got home, she had thrown things around, Stafford said.
“He thought he was going to stay for the concert but his face was bleeding,” Stafford said.
The concert took place at Rogers Arena.
Stafford said the man had to take a week off work to deal with the results of the fracas.
“He has fear of her,” Stafford said. “He doesn’t want to see her.”
Defence lawyer Mitchell Fogel told the court Birk is remorseful for her actions.
Denhoff told Birk she is on a peace bond to stay away from the man for a year, must take counselling as directed by a probation officer and write a letter of apology to the man.
Glacier Media has chosen not to publish the man’s name as the alleged victim in the case.
