Pemberton's Roger Molinaro to be sentenced on child sexual assault charges Aug. 3

A date for sentencing has been set in of Pemberton resident Roger Molinaro. 

Found guilty on several charges related to the abuse of two minors, who were close family friends, over a period of years, Molinaro will be sentenced in Pemberton court on Aug. 3 at 9:30 a.m., the North Vancouver court registry confirmed to Pique this week.  

Molinaro was arrested in April 2020 after police launched an investigation into historical allegations of child sexual assault. In November, he was found guilty on seven counts: sexual interference of a person under 14; invitation to sexual touching under 14; invitation to sexual touching under 16; two counts of sexual interference of a person under 16; and two counts of sexual assault.

On April 22, the court heard powerful and heart-wrenching impact statements from the survivors and members of their family. In session for most of the day, Judge Patricia Janzen that day. 

The Crown is pushing for a sentence of between seven and nine years, along with a list of court-ordered conditions. 

The victims' identities are protected under a publication ban.
