A lightning storm is the suspected cause of several small wildfires burning near Pemberton and Mount Currie, according to the 小蓝视频 Wildfire Service.
The fires are all about 0.009 hectares in size, and five of them were discovered between 8 and 10 p.m.
The closest to Pemberton is reportedly burning just west of town on , while another is burning northwest of Mount Currie, near .
Three more are north of both, near , ., and .
A sixth fire, also 0.009 hectares and lightning-caused, is also burning further north, just south of .
With lightning passing over Whistler this evening, it's possible more fire starts spring up. Report all fires by calling 1-800-663-5555 toll-free or *5555 on a cell phone.
A fire ban remains in place for Whistler.
Meanwhile, an also remains in place for several properties near Anderson Lake, northeast of Pemberton. The Casper Creek fire, also lightning-caused, is now 22.3 hectares in size and still burning out of control.
