Someone has bought a Lotto Max ticket in Greater Victoria worth $55 million.

The 小蓝视频 Lottery Corporation said the $5 ticket was purchased in the Saanich North region, but did not specifically say it came from North Saanich.

The draw was made Tuesday night.

“This was the first Lotto Max jackpot win of the year from a ticket purchased in 小蓝视频,” said 小蓝视频LC spokesperson Shelley Wong.

Tickets for the draw were bought across the country, with the odds of winning 1 in 33 million.

Wong said the municipality a winning ticket is from is not revealed right away “to support the integrity of the prize-claim process.”

The municipality and the retail outlet where the ticket came from will be verified once the winner comes forward, Wong said.

She said no one has claimed the prize yet.

The winning ticket matched all seven numbers drawn — 1, 3, 8, 24, 35, 42 and 43.

“It’s a life-changing amount of money,” Wong said. “We’re super-excited for this winner.”

The largest Lotto Max jackpot ever given out was $70 million in September 2021.

Winners have a year from the draw date on their ticket to contact 小蓝视频LC and receive their prize.

小蓝视频LC said it aims to provide “socially responsible gambling entertainment” that generates funds in support of community programs.
