More than 250,000 小蓝视频 Hydro customers lost power during a vigorous windstorm on Vancouver Island and 小蓝视频's south coast on Monday.
Environment Canada issued a wind warning calling for very strong northwest winds from 11 a.m. until the evening, with gusts of up to 100 km/h.
In Vancouver, there were downed trees on vehicles, roads, and walkways. Flights and 小蓝视频 Ferries were also impacted.
小蓝视频 Hydro was working to restore power to those left in the dark, but said it might take longer for some areas with significant damage.
