The Squamish Dragon Boat Association team, Chawanda, paddled to Gold in a hard-fought race at the on Saturday, Aug. 20th.
It was a nail-biter of a race.
The team beat the closest competition in their division by 0.133 seconds.
This was the first time the festival had been put on since 2019 due to the pandemic.
Seventy-five teams competed.
The team is still looking for new paddlers.
