Highland Games, sometimes known as Caledonian Games or Scottish Games, are a sports and cultural festival held in the spring or summer. The event was popularized in the 19th century, and became an important yearly celebration for members of the Scots diaspora.
In the photo above, officers and delegates of the North Vancouver St. Andrews & Caledonian Society are shown gathered at the Fourth Annual North Vancouver Scottish Games on July 19, 1913.
While it is unclear when the North Vancouver event ceased being celebrated, the 91st 小蓝视频 Highland Games were held in June of this year.
