Watch: 小蓝视频 delivery driver throws package at cat's face

A doorbell camera captured the moment when a delivery driver decided to throw a package at a cat.

An Abbotsford family was shocked to find out a delivery driver threw a package at their pet.

Nina Horncastle’s husband texted her to look at their door camera recordings on Oct. 16 just after 10 a.m.

“I logged on and looked at it and was like, ‘What the heck?’” she says.

In the video, their 10-year-old cat Franny can be seen looking at the delivery person as he walks toward the house. Franny walks towards the door and sits on the mat.

“Then he just looks at her, throws his package at her face and takes a picture and walks away,” says Horncastle. “I was super shocked.”

Franny was not injured during the incident.

“Normally, you see videos of delivery drivers kissing or petting people’s animals, but not this guy,” she says. "I don't know what was going on through his head. I don't know why he would do this."

They contacted the company where she believes the delivery driver works and sent them the video of the incident.

Glacier Media was sent the exchange with the company and also reached out to them.

In an email statement to Horncastle, a spokesperson with UniUni says: “We would like to express our sincere apologies for the incident involving the rude or unprofessional behaviour displayed by one of our drivers.

“We deeply regret any distress or discomfort this may have caused you.”

The statement also said it would "take appropriate actions based on our findings to address the issue and prevent such incidents from happening in the future.”

Horncastle suggests other people get a door camera as this one allowed them to see what was happening.

“Then you can find out stuff like this if your cat gets a package thrown at their face. So it's good to know,” she says.

The family hopes the company hires considerate and thoughtful people.

“Not only did he disrespect my cat, he disrespected our package when he just threw it like that,” she says.
