The organizers of the series of celebrations known as Phat Friday are using this weekend's event as a benefit for friend and Trinity Romance Shop owner Eric Armour.

Last week Trinity Romance Shop had its front window broken by a vandal or vandals. Part of the proceeds from tonight's (Friday, March 18) event - the third in the series - will help Armour cover the cost of replacing the window, said Craig Davidiuk, a long-time friend of Armour.

Tonight's event, which starts at 9 a.m. at The Rock Bar and Grill at Chances Casino, will feature local DJs Ill Eagle, Riddim Fernandez, Yama and Craiger. Cover charge is $10 at the door. Advance tickets are on sale at Trinity Romance on Second Avenue.

"Partial proceeds will go to Eric to help pay for the window," Davidiuk said in an emal to The Chief. "I usually run these events as a way to make a bit of extra money and create a playing gig for several DJs in town the support has been huge over the past eight months."
