The Squamish Re-Use-It Fair returns to the Brennan Park Recreation Centre on June 10.

Use it or lose it, or in this case, lose it and re-use it.

That’s the prevailing mantra at Squamish’s annual Re-Use-It Fair, organized by the , which invites locals to bring in their unwanted, usable items and take away their own rare finds. The free event returns to the Brennan Park Recreation Centre on Saturday, June 10, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Accepted items include small appliances in good working order or in need of minor repair; large appliances in good working order; gently used toys, books, clothing, baby supplies, DVDs, and CDs; as well as furniture, household items, garden tools, and sports equipment in reasonable condition.

Electronics such as TVs, computers, printers, VCRs (which can be recycled at the bottle depot) are not accepted, as well as broken, unsafe toys, damaged strollers, out-of-date children’s car seats, and mattresses (which can be recycled at the landfill). No items beyond repair will be accepted.

There is no cost to the fair, and you don’t have to donate any items to be able to take home your own.

Items can be dropped off between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. only.

Those interested in volunteering at the event should email [email protected] for more information.
