The Juno award-winning New Orford String Quartet will visit Squamish for a matin茅e chamber music performance at St. John the Divine Anglican Church, on Sunday.

The event is a presentation of West Vancouver's Kay Meek Centre, which is hosting the quartet on its main stage the same weekend.

The New Orford String Quartet includes 小蓝视频鈥檚 Jonathan Crow as its first violinist.聽

Crow is the concertmaster of the Toronto Symphony.

The other members 鈥擜ndrew Wan (Violin), Eric Nowlin (Viola), and Brian Manker (Cello)鈥 are musicians in Toronto, Detroit, and Montreal symphonies.聽

鈥淎s leaders in the orchestral field, their goal is to bring a fresh approach to performing chamber music at the very highest level,鈥 reads a release about their upcoming Squamish event.

The May 13 performance will include Hugo Wolf鈥檚 famous Italian Serenade, Ludwig van Beethoven鈥檚 String Quartet No. 11 鈥淪erioso,鈥 and the Schumann Piano Quintet with virtuoso pianist Ian Parker joining the group for the conclusion of the concert, according to the release.

The rare-for-Squamish performance begins at 3 p.m.
