Designed to assist young performers in their pursuits, the competition is judges will award a winner based on raw talent, confidence and difficulty.

Brian Marchant is in charge of the lighting and sound for the show, and is a former producer. He said the competition gives youth aged 13 -21 the opportunity to perform with professional equipment.

Last year's winner, Ali Milner, has already released her first full length CD, and will be performing at the show.

"Ali Milner's accomplishments are an indication of the talent level we have in the corridor," said Marchant, who also owns a recording studio. "It is an example of what Star Search is capable of.
