After you've challenged the Test of Metal this year, or watched your family or friends test their mettle on the infamous course, head over to the Howe Sound Brew Pub to celebrate at the return of the event's Apres Party.
"We've had apr猫s parties in the past," said Sheila Cassels, festival event coordinator for TOM. "But they had pretty low attendance, so we've not had one in a couple of years."
However, Cassels said this year volunteers and riders were asking for the return of the apr猫s party.
"The athletes and the volunteers were all asking if there was going to be a party this year," she said. "I think there should be a party like this for everyone. It's like having closure."
Cassels said low attendance wouldn't be a problem this year.
"With more locals, tons of volunteers, and all the non-riders, families and friends - it's going to be a big party," she said. "And we're fortunate the Brew Pub stepped in to host and sponsor this party."
The party features sets by a local DJ, as well as the hot and very danceable ska sounds of Brave New Waves.
"They are a fantastic band," said Lavera Rempel, assistant general manager at the Brew Pub. "People were asking for them to come back after they performed at the surf festival, and they were anxious to come back and play in Squamish."
Based out of Vancouver Island, the band plays a blend of ska, reggae and surf music, infused with a laid back West Coast style.
"They've been played on C小蓝视频 a lot," said Rempel. "It'll be a fun party."
In addition to the fun times, great music and good company, Rempel said the Apres Party would also feature a rare treat for beer lovers.
"We'll be bringing out our Mettleman Copper Ale," she said. "We only make it in the spring in honour of the Test of Metal."
The establishment is also featuring a Rockstar Party on Sunday at 5 p.m. for those brave souls participating in the Rockstar race at noon sponsored by Tantalus Bike Shop.
"The Rockstar Party is for riders, family and friends," she said, "And that's in our Garibaldi Room."
The Test of Metal Apres Party starts at 9:30 p.m. on Saturday at the Howe Sound Brew Pub.
