Awakening women's well-being

Networking night to offer insights into healthy living

An evening of presentations and pampering for women in the Squamish area is set to take place at the ExecutiveSuites Garibaldi Springs HotelandResort on Thursday (Oct 20).

Those interested in learning about locally available health and wellness products and services, while giving back to the community, will not want to miss this event as organizer Judy Steeves promises a fun, motivational and inspirational night.

"We just wanted to offer women a flavour of what's out there," Steeves said.

Businesses attending the event will include Xocolatl, downtown Squamish's specialty chocolate shop, Organo Coffee, a healthy coffee company specializing in antioxidant-rich products, and Skincerity, a progressive skin care line for which Steeves is a home-based customer service representative. Fitness demonstrations by personal trainers with Dream Fitness will be offered, as will energy healing demonstrations by Reiki master Yoko Haga. On display will be Silpada Jewelry's newest collection while women representatives from R小蓝视频 Financial will share their financial expertise.

The night of networking is scheduled to begin shortly after 7 p.m. with formal presentations by each of the participating businesses. Tables will be set up around the perimeter of the banquet room with theatre-style seating in the centre. Each business will have its products or services displayed at the tables and, after the presentations, people will be able to approach the businesses individually with questions, enjoy samples and mingle.

"There is no need for people to stay right to the end," Steeves said, "and if people can't make it before (the presentations), they're certainly welcome to still attend."

Admission is free, but donations of $5 per person will be requested at the door with all proceeds going to the Howe Sound Women's Centre.

"I wanted to raise some money for the women's centre and I thought it might be a fun way to do it," said Steeves, adding that everyone is welcome to attend.
