The Canadian Book Club Awards (C小蓝视频A) recently announced its 2023 finalists, and five Sea to Sky authors are in the mix.
L.C. Reid made the cut in the Fiction category for his book Stork Lake: Tales from a Wall of Hats, while fellow Whistlerite, Stella Harvey, made the list for her book Finding Callidora.
Another Whistlerite, Heather Hendrie, presents Awfully Hilarious in the Anthology division.
Two Squamish-based writers, Christina Walsh and Carolyn Turkington, have likewise been nominated for an anthology of their own: The MomBabes: A Motherhood Anthology Volume 3.
As our nation's largest reader's choice awards, the C小蓝视频A goes against traditional literary award trends by focusing on inclusivity and accessibility. They are the only awards that are open to all publishing types (hybrid, traditional, and self-published) that allow readers to have their say.
“In a world where books are in constant competition for people’s attention, the number of readers and books participating in this year’s award is a wonderful indicator that books still have a stronghold on what entertainment we reach for," says C小蓝视频A program director Kristain Oliveria-Barnes in a press release.
