A听Squamish-based author and expert on Middle East geopolitics is planning an event next week to launch his newest book.
Turkey and the Arab Spring: Leadership in the Middle East, by Graham E. Fuller, 鈥渂reaks with traditional U.S.-centric analysis of the Middle East to capture the political and social aspirations of the region, reflecting its own history, cultures and views of the world,鈥 a book summary states.
A book launch and author talk are planned next Tuesday (June 24) from 7:30 to 9 p.m. at St. John鈥檚 Anglican Church on Diamond Road.
Fuller is a former vice-chair of the U.S. National Intelligence Council who served as station chief for the Central Intelligence Agency in Kabul, along with other postings. Also a lecturer in history at Simon Fraser University, he has written a dozen books, most recently A World Without Islam and Three Truths and a Lie: A Memoir.
