Good for some

X-Men Origins: Wolverine Director: Gavin Hood Cast: Hugh Jackman, Liev Schrieber, Danny Houston Rated: PG-13 Running time: 107 minutes

I'm flabbergasted. Do you believe there were actually scenes in X-Men Origins: Wolverine where Hugh Jackman had his shirt on? This is simply unacceptable!

People are not going to see this film for a good story. If you are, you will be sorely disappointed.

The film opens with a young Wolverine in the 19th century. Quickly he kills a man he finds out is his father and from there it's a quick opening credit montage of Wolverine and his brother fighting in every war. Eventually he lets the army replace his bones with a super strong metal and the rest is muddled history.

So, should you see this? Well, if a topless Hugh Jackman floats your boat - then sail on. There is plenty peck and shoulder exposure and even a naked Hugh Jackman running across the Canadian planes and the cherry on the cake - him naked jumping off a waterfall. If that's what Wolverine means to you then you will be very happy.

If you're someone who actually enjoys Wolverine in comic form you will be sorely disappointed. (Nerd alert!) For starters Sabertooth and Wolverine are brothers (insert nerdy snort of annoyance here). Then there is the ridiculous portrayal of Gambit. Frankly, the entire film is an abomination in the eyes of any comic geek. My patriotism was also hit hard since it looked like the parts that sucked the most involved Canada.

Our only hope is that this is as bad as summer blockbuster season gets, otherwise it's going to be a very, very long one.
