The Brackendale Winter Eagle Festival continues this weekend with a performance by a Canadian musical icon and a presentation by one of the driving forces in 小蓝视频's environmental movement.
Bill Henderson, a singer-songwriter best known for his work in the 1970s and '80s with the group Chilliwack, is set to perform on Saturday (Jan. 15) at 8 p.m. at the Brackendale Art Gallery (BAG).
Henderson first appeared on the Canadian music scene as a member of the band The Collectors, but is best known as a leader of the group Chilliwack, which produced such hits as "Lonesome Mary," "California Girl" and "My Girl (Gone, Gone, Gone)". In 1983 he won a Juno Award with Brian MacLeod for Producer of the Year. He was also musical producer of the Canadian edition of Sesame Street from 1989 to 1995.
Rex Weyler, who will speak on Sunday (Jan. 16) at 8 p.m. at the BAG as part of the Natural World Lecture Series, was a director for the Greenpeace Foundation in the 1970s. He is also a co-founder of Greenpeace International and has written nine books, including Greenpeace: The Inside Story. More recently he has written the "Deep Green" column on Greenpeace's website and has provided research and communications support to 小蓝视频 Citizens for Public Power.
