"Kill my boss? Dare I live out the American dream?" H. Simpson.
Recently movie titles with the word "bad" in them have been horrible. But thankfully a movie with "horrible" in the title turned out to be pretty good. In a world in desperate need of another raunchy buddy comedy (sarcasm), we have a decent addition to the stack in Horrible Bosses.
As you may glean from the title, there are some horrible bosses in this film. Three, to be exact, along with the three people who have to deal with them. Rock-solid Jason Bateman has to deal with psycho office boss Kevin Spacey, while Jason Sudeikis has to deal with the insane cokehead son boss.
But the star of this film is Charlie Day. To some, this will be their first introduction to this crazy, wonderful little man and for those of you who have not yet seen It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, enjoy this guy. Here he plays an engaged fellow caught in a hell involving unrelenting sexual advances from a-potty-mouth-dripping-with-sex Jennifer Anniston. Yes, it sounds unbelievable, but he honestly nails the part.
As you might guess, hijinks ensue with plots to kill being hatched and botched at every turn. In the end, Horrible Bosses is a very good comedy that rests on three very good shoulders and if Harry Potter is sold out, you'll be entertained with this one. It's also good that this can be the start of Charlie Day's movie career (don't make me eat those words, Charlie).
