The Howe Sound Music Festival (HSMF) celebrates its 10th year this coming April, and locals can get a preview of what's in store this year while supporting the festival early next month.
The Howe Sound Performing Arts Association presents Inspiration, a benefit concert to promote the festival, on Sunday, Feb. 6 at 2 p.m. at St. John's Anglican Church. The concert promises to be jam-packed with a wide variety of Squamish talent. Admission to the hour-long showcse is by donation.
HSMF organizers are also inviting members of the community to consider donating a scholarship to a dedicated student. You can specify a discipline (piano, classical voice, musical theatre, or choral), age group/level (under 12 years, adult/beginner or honours) and amount. Volunteers are also needed before and during the festival in jobs such as door monitor, desk secretary, or hospitality.
Business owners can contribute with cash or in-kind donations. For more information please contact Veronica McPhee, HSMF executive director, at (604) 892-7819.
