As the car rolled directly over her mother, Shana Lee Gibson shrieked and realized that everything she foresaw had become a reality.
While growing up, Gibson always had strange dreams, but brushed them off. It wasn't until she received a vision of a car accident involving her mother that she realized her gift to look into the future.
I remember having an actual vision and saw the words 'car accident,' she said, noting that she was 15 at the time. I had an overwhelming knowingness that it was my mom. She was about to go on a vacation to a friend's farm in Dawson Creek and I decided to go with her at the last minute I felt I had this responsibility and that there was a chance for me to save her.
But Gibson was just a little too late. On the final day of the vacation, her mother was helping her friend move a car but the clutch was released and the car rolled forward and ran over her mom.
Thankfully, my mom eventually recovered, she said. But I felt this extreme responsibility about what happened. With these gifts comes a burden that only other fellow mediums can understand. It comes with a lot of joy and responsibility. You're dealing with people's lives, but that moment was my big awakening.
Gibson went on to pursue acting at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Los Angeles but after getting sick and returning to 小蓝视频, she delved into the world of spirituality. She attended a spiritual church in Vancouver where it was confirmed that she was receiving psychic information and mediumship information. She then went to England to further her studies.
She started doing public readings in 2000 and has built her client base up ever since. Gibson will bring her gifts to Squamish on March 15 and said she hopes to help open people's eyes and connect them with departed loved ones.
It's a really wonderful night of laughter, healing, tears and inspiration, she said. People walk away feeling like they're challenging the way they're looking at things, and I hope some people will walk away feeling completely fulfilled.
Gibson said the evening begins with a brief group meditation as a way to invite participants' loved ones from the spirit world to come closer to them.
It's a nice opportunity for everyone to relax and then I begin to work, she said. Loved ones in spirit, hopefully one at a time, will begin to blend with me and bring through information. I share the information and people in the audience will begin to identify and recognize who is speaking through me.
She said it can be a fascinating experience communicating with those in the spirit world.
I don't see spirits in front of me. It's almost like I'm the camera I'm him or her, she said. Psychics perceive but don't communicate with the other side, but they won't be able to bring it forth with evidence and communication. It's almost like the psychic is staring out the window, whereas the medium is experiencing it. It's a very magical, wonderful experience.
Gibson said the work she does is rewarding and invites Squamish residents to open their minds.
I feel the greatest transition in life is death and evidential mediumship has the opportunity to bring healing and peace to the living, she said.
The Evening of Mediumship takes place on March 15 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Squamish Adventure Centre. For more details on Gibson and the event, visit www.shanaleegibson.ca.
