Aspiring local DJs and music fans have a chance to earn their way to a special experience at this year鈥檚 Squamish Valley Music Festival (SVMF).
Canadian DJ duo Adventure Club, Wavo and SVMF have partnered together for the first Fade Remix Contest.
Adventure Club, the Montreal-based duo of Christian Srigley and Leighton James, are looking for the next big remix of their song Fade and are inviting anyone and everyone to make music.
Those interested can download the stems to mix at www.wavo.me/squamish/adventure-club-fade-remix-competition and then upload the finished product to the Wave site. All uploaded remixes will be eligible for public listening and voting. Submissions and voting runs from June 16 to July 17 and a winner will be selected from the top three by Adventure Club and the SVMF.
鈥淭he festival is a strong advocate for fostering musical talent and creative community without barriers,鈥 stated Erik Hoffman, Live Nation Canada Senior Vice-President of Talent in a press release. 鈥淭his is an opportunity to have a bit of fun and get noticed by Adventure Club, as well as by hundreds of thousands of music lovers. It is always interesting to see how people interpret the same song in entirely different ways.鈥
The winning remix will receive two VIP wristbands to SVMF, camping and parking, a meet and greet with Adventure Club and a $500 travel stipend. The winning remix will also be premiered on Billboard Dance and receive social media promotion from Adventure Club, SVMF, Billboard Dance, and Wavo鈥檚 channels.
