The West Coast Railway Heritage Park is getting set for a busy fall and winter and is inviting the public to come take part in several events planned at the park between now and the end of October.
The Roundhouse of Dreams Gala, which takes place on Oct. 22, is a celebration of 50 years of the West Coast Railway Association (WCRA). Held in the CN Roundhouse Centre, the event promises to be an evening full of food and live music by Circle of Friends. There will also be several live and silent auctions and a special art commission by Paul Ohannesian.
Tickets for the Roundhouse of Dreams are $100 plus taxes or $800 for a table of eight. Dress is classy casual, meaning a jacket and tie is not required. Doors are schedule to open at 6 p.m.
October means Halloween and the park's annual celebration will take place from Oct. 27 to 30 when Frightfest takes place at the park. The mini-rail will be in operation, as well as several other Halloween-themed displays for the whole family to enjoy.
Park officials also announced that tickets for the 2011 Polar Express are set to go on sale on Monday (Oct. 17) at 10 a.m. It will be an expanded Polar Express experience this year, as the train will hit the tracks from Nov. 26 to 27 and Dec. 3 to 4, with four departures per day.
