Squamish residents can now officially get ready to rock after lineup details were announced for the Squamish Valley Music Festival (SVMF) on Friday (March 1).
Rockers Queens of the Stone Age and indie band Vampire Weekend are the announced headliners for the festival, taking place this year on Aug. 9 and 10 at the Loggers Sports Grounds.
Other top acts scheduled to appear include: hip hop group Jurassic 5, rapper Macklemore, Vancouver singer-songwriter Dan Mangan and Seattle rockers Band of Horses.
Queens of the Stone Age are set to release their new album in June and drums on the new album will be performed by founding member and former Nirvana member Dave Grohl. It's unconfirmed if Grohl will be performing with the band at SVMF.
Vampire Weekend's new album, entitled Modern Vampires of the Weekend is set to be released on May 6. Macklemore recently performed on Saturday Night Live and the Seattle native's 2012 album The Heist debuted in October at number two on the Billboard 200.
