Since reviewing the Bieber film would simply be too easy, I joined the rest of the people who have already seen The King's Speech and went to see Liam Neeson in Unknown, which is really a misleading title. The fact is that the last three times we've seen Liam, he's been running from, and blowing-up, people. Well, his aged action-man streak continues as he once again performs better than the material he's given.
It begins with Liam and his wife (January Jones - if you believe anyone would name their kid that) headed to Berlin for a bigwig biotechnology conference. Liam then gets into a cab accident and hits his head. When he wakes four days later, as you would suspect, he remembers only bits and pieces - just enough to keep the movie going for 133 minutes.
The early twist is that when he goes back to his wife, she doesn't recognize him and there is even another man who has taken his place. From there well, it gets kind of silly. Which is too bad. Liam is great as always and the rest of the cast is superb. But the suspense thrillers that are good are the ones where you have to barely suspend disbelief. While this film started strong, it went into numerous-twist land and eventually became more silly than thrilling.
Keeping it in perspective, though, if you have to see a movie and you're not a very young lady, this will do just fine.
