Although he passed away on April 16, 2020 in Squamish, lives on in the form of a brand-new endowment fund.

The Wayne Flebbe Arts Fund is intended to provide financial support for Whistler-based performing, visual or literature arts programs. It may cover, among other things, the wages, assets and operating costs of such endeavours.

In a press release, the Whistler Community Foundation anticipated that the new fund could add more than $5000 to local arts grants.

Wayne and his brother Rick, who died in 2009, were known to many as Whistlerite “Rock and Roll Soul Brothers” who attended virtually every live show in their community. Wayne in particular was easily identified by his John Lennon glasses, black skinny jeans, leather jacket, and a cowboy hat atop his bulletproof curls.
