The Squamish Library on Monday (Jan. 31) is hosting an evening with Robin Garland, who will share her photos and tales of her trip to Nunavut. The evening begins at 7 p.m. with admission by donation. Refreshments will be served after Robin's presentation.
Robert Silverman, a distinguished pianist, will be performing at the Eagle Eye Theatre on Friday, Feb. 4 at 8 p.m. with a full concert and at a special 45-minute matin茅e recital on Saturday, Feb. 5 at 2 p.m. This is the first concert of this new year brought to you by the Howe Sound Performing Arts Association. Mr. Silverman has performed in major concert halls throughout North America, Europe, the Far East and Australia with several orchestras. Tickets for the Friday evening performance are $20 for adults, $15 for seniors and $10 for students and children. The matin茅e prices are $10 for adults, seniors and students and $8 for children. They are available at Billie's Bouquet, Mostly Books and Highland Video.
Valdy and Friends are coming back to one of their favourite locations, the Brackendale Art Gallery, tomorrow night (Jan. 29). The Wingding dinner and dance begins at 7 p.m. and tickets at $28 each are available at the BAG and Mostly Books.

The children's storytime programs at Squamish Public Library on Monday (Jan. 31) have been postponed due to staff training taking place in the meeting room.
Alison Sturton at the Squamish Public Library is reminding teens that the next Teen Book Club meeting planned for Tuesday, Feb. 1 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. has been postponed until Tuesday Feb. 8. The book chosen for discussion is A Perfect Snow by Nora Martin. It does help to know if you plan to join the group as they want to make sure to order enough pizza! Tonight (Jan. 28) there is Glow in the Dark skate at Brennan Park Recreation Centre with family skate from 7:25 to 8:25 p.m. and everyone welcome skate from 8:40 to 9:40 p.m. Starting Tuesday (Feb. 1) there is recreational volleyball each Wednesday at Howe Sound Secondary School. The first annual Brackendale Documentary Film Festival will be held in the Brackendale Art Gallery on the weekend of Feb. 26-27. Thor Froslev has already received four entries and he said the films and DVDs will feature all that nature has to offer including eagle watching, bears, forests, oceans and more entries are welcome.
