It was relatively quiet in town over the long weekend for local police, RCMP say.
Sea to Sky Squamish RCMP had extra resources working over the Victoria Day long weekend, according to Cpl. Angela Kermer.
"Areas of enforcement focus included: increased patrols in local park and recreation areas; enforcing the Motor Vehicle Act with respect to impaired driving, speeding, and distracted driving; and water safety for boaters," she said in a news release on May 23.
"Detachment members report that Squamish was relatively quiet over the weekend, directly reflecting on calls for service this year over last."
This year, police received 97 service calls over the weekend, while in 2022, they received 108.
