A weather monitoring mechanism has been installed on The 小蓝视频 roof that will supply direct weather updates to its website.
A crew of four installed the device on April 20. It is about one of 40 or so devices that have been installed so far. The network, called Weatherhood, is expected to go live this coming summer through , The Chief’s parent company.
Once operational, readers will be able to read weather updates on the site that will come directly from the station on top of our office in downtown Squamish on Second Avenue, plus others from around the province.
The crew that installed the device consisted of Kemp Edmonds, Reagan McKinney, Ryan Buirs and Jaskaran Bal. Edmonds is the director for Weatherhood and McKinney is a PhD candidate at the University of British Columbia as well as an installation specialist with Weatherhood and Glacier Media.
Buirs and Bal are students at the British Columbia Institute of Technology completing a practicum with Weatherhood.
The first phase will have about 60 of these devices installed throughout the province.
