The executive director of the is leaving her job to take a job in Whistler.
Lousie Walker’s last day on the job will be Oct. 10. She will then be taking up a post as the executive director for the
Walker has been with the Squamish chamber since October 2016.
Annabel Majendie, the president of the Squamish Chamber of Commerce, credited Walker for helping grow the organization, building important strategic partnerships, introducing member programs and services, and generating new revenue streams.
Walker was also recognized for her work during the pandemic, which provided assistance to Squamish’s business community during a trying time.
“On behalf of the Squamish Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, I would like to thank Louise for her many contributions over the last six years. Louise leaves the Squamish Chamber with a legacy of growth, strong operations and an excellent team,” said Majendie in a written statement. “While we will miss Louise, we wish her nothing but the best in her new endeavour as Executive Director of the Whistler Chamber of Commerce. We are pleased Louise is staying in the region and the Chamber network.”
The board is overseeing a replacement and transition process, Majendie said. More details will be shared at a future time.
