Squamish RCMP looking for assault suspect

The Squamish RCMP is asking for help identifying a suspect in an assault investigation.

Several weeks ago, on Feb. 7, RCMP was contacted by a man who said he had been assaulted near Bailey Street and Summits View Drive, police say.

“The victim reported that he was walking his dog when the male suspect, who was also walking his dog, approached the victim, assaulted him, and then departed toward Bailey Street. The victim sustained numerous injuries in the assault,” reads an RCMP release emailed to The 小蓝视频.

“We are releasing a forensic sketch of the suspect in an attempt to identify this individual,” said Const. Katrina Boehmer, media relations officer with the Sea to Sky RCMP, in the release. “If you recognize this person, please contact the Squamish RCMP’s non-emergency line at 604-892-6100.”

The suspect is described as a white or South Asian male, about 1.8 metres tall (six feet), between 90 to 104 kilograms (220 and 230 pounds). He is further described as having a muscular build, black hair and partial facial hair.

He was wearing a black toque, black Arc’teryx shell jacket, black pants and dark hiking-style running shoes and was walking a leashed, black German Shepherd dog.
