Spit Road closure
With kiting season over, the Squamish Training Berm (Spit Road), will now be closed until Nov. 15, as Squamish River Watershed Society (SRWS) crews install a third large fish-friendly box culvert.
"This feature will replace the current undersized culvert, which will improve fish access and allow freshwater to transfer into the central estuary channel from the Squamish River," reads a SRWS post.

Highway 99 issues to note
鈥�Highway 99, between Sea View Drive and Alpha Lake Rd for 61.5 km (2 km south of Squamish to Whistler). The work will start on Monday, Sept. 23 and go until Thursday, Sept. 26. The work is planned from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Watch for slow moving vehicle.
鈥�Also on highway 99, in both directions, between Alice Lake Rd and Alpha Lake Rd for 25.6 km (4 km north of Squamish to Whistler), starting Monday, Sept. 23 until Tuesday, Sept. 24, from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Lane closures in both directions planned. Watch for traffic control personnel.
鈥�Again, , southbound, expect roadside brushing between Alpha Lake Rd and Callaghan Valley Rd (Whistler), starting on Monday until Tuesday, Sept. 24, from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The right lane will be closed.
