Details of the events leading up to the death of a noted snowmobile rider will be unveiled in 小蓝视频 Supreme Court.

A judge ruled last week in North Vancouver that Jeremy Walter Deichen will stand trial accused of causing the death of Josh Chapman in the summer of 2002. Deichen was charged with criminal negligence causing death when Chapman rode his snowmobile through a wall of flames during a party in the Squamish Business Park.

The stunt went horribly wrong when Chapman was reportedly doused with gasoline as he approached the flame wall. He suffered severe burns and died in hospital a few days after the incident.

A youth was found guilty earlier this month and faces sentencing next month.

Deichen is a filmmaker and was allegedly at the scene of the tragedy filming the stunt. A preliminary hearing into the charges against Deichen wrapped up last week. The hearing didn't take as long as expected and the judge hearing the evidence concluded there was sufficient evidence for the matter to proceed to trial.

The evidence presented in the preliminary hearing is subject to a publication ban and cannot be reported.

No dates were set for Deichen's Supreme Court hearing as of press time.
