Updated: Crash at Porteau Cove that sent three to hospital is now clear

Drivers heading to the area should expect congestions and delays for some time.

Drive小蓝视频 reports that the multi-vehicle crash is clear at Porteau Cove Provincial Park. 

"Expect delays to remain due to congestion," the post on X reads.

Fire Chief Rob Nicholls says that Britannia Beach Volunteer Fire Department (BBVFD) responded to the crash, with three vehicles and a dozen firefighters.

“BBVFD first responders extricated one person from a vehicle and provided medical care to several others, Nicholls said in an emailed statement.

RCMP and 小蓝视频 Emergency Health Services were also on scene, in stages, with multiple ambulances.

The most serious injury was transported by Air Ambulance to hospital.

Total, three people were transported to the hospital, according to .

Meanwhile, Drive小蓝视频 is also now reporting a landslide blocking Highway 99, 38 kilometres south of Lillooet, north of Duffey Lake.

"Crew and emergency services en route. Possible long closure: please consider using an alternate route," the post reads.

Update at 5:22 p.m., Aug. 5

A media spokesperson with the Provincial Health Services Authority says that three people were transported to the hospital due to this multi-vehicle crash at Porteau Cove.  

These first responders were called to the crash at 4:27 p.m. today.

The spokesperson says that three 小蓝视频 Ambulance Service vehicles with paramedics were on the scene: two primary care ambulances and one advanced life-support ambulance.

An air ambulance was also at the crash.

Posters on Facebook's Sea to Sky Road Conditions report multiple ambulances and say the crash is right at the entrance to the provincial park.

Reports are that traffic is slowed northbound, but getting through. Southbound is said to be stopped.
