It will be a rainy week, says Squamish's Jason Ross.

Typical October weather has finally arrived in the Sea to Sky.

says a series of systems will get the fall storm cycle going this week.

predicts rain almost every day this week, with temperatures in the single digits until Saturday.

"One system moved through overnight into this morning (Oct. 24) with rain, mountain snow down to 600 metres, windy conditions for the coast," Ross said.

A second system will move through the area Tuesday night.

A third system is expected on Thursday into Friday.

"This one could be the strongest on tap, with heavy precipitation amounts being predicted by the ensemble models," Ross said.

There's good news in the forecast for locals who love skiing.

Ross said the mountains will get a good dump of snow this week, with the freezing levels hovering between 1,000 to 1,500 metres this week.
