This weekend is it for men's soccer until the new year, and it's been a tough battle for the top spot in the league.

Brew Pub and Whistler F.C. have been struggling to be the number one team in the league. A few weeks ago, Whistler F.C. knocked Brew Pub out of first place, and currently sit at 26 points - eight wins, one loss and two ties. But don't count the home team out quite yet. It's right on Whistler's back, with seven wins, zero losses and four ties (25 points).

"It's a surprise that we're doing so well," said Scott Lamont, a coach/player for the Brew Pub. The Brew Pub team had traditionally done very poorly, winning only three games in its first three years of existence.

The team hasn't lost a single match this year.

"It's nice to be undefeated, but we'll take it game by game," Lamont said.

For the moment though, Whistler F.C. is the team to beat.

Ellis Moving is barreling through the ranks, vying for top spot in the league. The team has six wins, one loss and four ties (22 points). It also has 27 goals for, while Brew Pub has 26.

Inter United was formed just this year, but the team has managed to push its way into fourth spot. The team is a mix of players from the Brew Pub and the former Garibaldi Lifting Company team. The black and white jerseys have six wins, four losses and one tie for 19 points.

M.小蓝视频 Rangers are in fifth spot. The team has five wins, five losses, and one tie, with 16 points.

The Canex Thunder are just behind, with four wins, seven losses, and zero ties equaling 12 points.Lil'WAT7uhl is another new team this year. It is in seventh place in the league with two wins, nine losses and zero ties.

Carney's 35 is in last place in the league, with zero points, and zero wins. But the team is unique in the sense that it is there to have fun, and made up entirely of players over the age of 35.

"The older fellas on that team enjoy playing in the league even though we out aged," said Cecil Van Sickle, the team goalie and representative. "We're having fun anyways. The wins and losses don't reflect that."

He said the team was out manned and outgunned, but still competitive.

"Even though we're not doing that well in the standings, we're still giving every team a game."
