Several Sea to Sky Nordics members acquitted themselves well at the 2024 Biathlon 小蓝视频 Championships in Whistler Olympic Park (WOP).
Taje Hansen went undefeated on home snow during the weekend, prevailing in March 2's mass start event and March 3's sprint competition in the senior boys age group.
Hansen's teammate, Lucas Clements of Squamish, grabbed silver medals in both of the aforementioned disciplines among youth men.
The junior boys featured Holden Wilson as their standout. He skied and shot his way to a runner-up finish in the mass start and bronze in the sprint.
Thomas Vseticka mirrored Wilson's results in the U13 prone category: second in mass start and third during the sprint. It was Spencer Burkholder who triumphed in mass start, while Ethan Bell notched a sprint silver.
The U13 standing division saw Per Mickelson net a pair of bronze medals.
A total of 102 athletes participated in the 小蓝视频 Championships, including a number of visitors from Alberta and Washington state. They had to deal with bouts of blowing snow during the mass start, which added extra difficulty in the shooting range, but were treated to ideal sunny skies for the sprint.
"Sea to Sky Nordics would like to thank the many volunteers and sponsors who helped make the event a success," wrote a club spokesperson in a press release.
The final race of the season for local biathletes is Nationals, which take place from March 27 to 31 in Hinton, Alta.
