Ready for 'lofty aspirations'

Local pro cyclist Neal Kindree has been training all winter, and he's ready to get back into the competition circuit. Kindree's schedule this year will take him from courses as close as the Test of Metal to races as far away as New Zealand.

Local pro cyclist Neal Kindree has been training all winter, and he's ready to get back into the competition circuit.

Kindree's schedule this year will take him from courses as close as the Test of Metal to races as far away as New Zealand.The athlete, who just turned 19 last month, admits to having lofty aspirations, but believes his goals are in sight.

"I am very excited about the 2006 race season and I look forward to the challenges that lie ahead," said Kindree. "Some of my goals for 2006 include winning the Test of Metal, Canada Cup series, and National Championship. I'm also hoping for another podium finish at the Pan American Championship and to better my previous 8th place finish at the World Championships. These are lofty aspirations but with proper training and technical support I know what can be accomplished."

Kindree said he will also race at the U小蓝视频 Tuesday Nighters, the 小蓝视频 Cups, and local Toonie races where time permits.

Kindree also announced his sponsors for the 2006 season, and they are: Kona Bicycle Group, Union Securities, Carney's Waste Systems, Vetta Cycle Computers, Acumen Inc. Heart Rate Monitors, Goodwin Studios, Squamish Mountain Bike, Smith Sport Optics, Team Squamish, Flash-5 Energy Foods, and Stan's NoTubes Sealant.
