Ride Squamish

Sports

Age? 51 years young

Why are you taking the test?

My brother-in-law keeps me training by giving me the Test registration as a Christmas gift each year. Also I have to try to beat my 15-year-old daughter this year.

How many times have you taken the Test?

I've taken it 11 times, twice on the Brodie course and nine times on the long course.

What is your best personal time?

3 hours 42 minutes

How long have you been racing?

12 years

Do you have an inspiring racer?

My inspiration comes from my riding buddies, Lance Lang, Kamakaze Kerr and Dare Devil Kindree.

What is your training regime?

I spend lots of time flying up Paradise Valley on my road bike.

Do you have an energy boost secret?

Hydration is key for me. Plus bananas.

What do you expect to be your biggest challenge during the race?

The heat of a June afternoon makes the climb up Nine Mile a huge challenge. Also the anticipation of cramping in Crumpet Woods is always there too.
