Squamish's Ashley Hogg helped the Boise State University Broncos finish second at the Irvine Anteater Invitational in Coto de Caza, California Wednesday (March 16). Hogg shot a 3 under par in the final round to win by five, capturing her first victory at college ranks.
Hogg's 69 was the best round of the day and she finished with a 54-hole school record of 216.
Kids kick off Loonie race season April 3
Squamish Off-Road Cycling (SORCA) is launching its Loonie Race Series on Sunday, April 3 with a 10-race series for kids.
SORCA members aged 12 to 18 are invited to the Dump Trail at the top of Ross Road at 3 p.m. for the first of 10 Sunday races. The cost of $1 includes pizza and post-race refreshments.
Kids will be categorized according to ability, not age and no matter how racers place, all participants will receive points, although top finishers will receive a few extra.
Loonie racers participating in other SORCA events like trail maintenance days will receive "huge mega bonus points" that will earn them prizes at the end of the season.
