WINNIPEG — A woman is facing an attempted murder charge after a six-year-old boy was stabbed in Winnipeg.Â
Police say officers were called to a home in the city's Central neighbourhood at about noon Wednesday.Â
Officers found the boy who had been stabbed and provided emergency care, including the use of a chest seal to close off the wounds.Â
The boy was sent to hospital in critical condition and was eventually upgraded to stable condition.Â
A woman in her 20s was arrested at the home and charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault and possession of a weapon.Â
Police are not naming the woman out of privacy for the boy, but say they are known to each other. Â
