DUNEDIN, Fla. — Vladimir Guerrero Jr. went 3-for-3 with four runs batted in and starter Tanner Roark pitched three scoreless innings as the Toronto Blue Jays beat the Detroit Tigers 10-6 in pre-season action on Thursday.
Guerrero's three-run homer capped a four-run first inning for the Blue Jays (6-4-1) against Detroit starter Michael Fulmer, who gave up seven runs in two innings
New Blue Jays outfielder George Springer led off the bottom of the first with a home run.
Alejandro Kirk and Randal Grichuk also had homers for Toronto.
Roark gave up one hit and struck out three in his second outing of spring training. He hasn't given up a run in five innings overall.
New reliever Kirby Yates made his first appearance for Toronto, giving up two hits and no runs in one inning after replacing Roark.
The Blue Jays face the Pittsburgh Pirates on Friday.
