Weal's three-point night leads Laval Rocket to 5-3 win over Manitoba Moose

WINNIPEG — Jordan Weal had a goal and two assists Sunday, leading the surging Laval Rocket to a 5-3 win over the Manitoba Moose in American Hockey League play.

WINNIPEG — Jordan Weal had a goal and two assists Sunday, leading the surging Laval Rocket to a 5-3 win over the Manitoba Moose in American Hockey League play.

Rafael Harvey-Pinard, Hayden Verbeek, Ryan Poehling and Joseph Blandisi also scored for the Rocket (14-4-2), who remain atop the Canadian Division. 

The Moose (8-9-2) got goals from Leon Gawanke, Kristian Vesalainen and Kristian Reichal, while David Gustafsson recorded a pair of assists. 

Cayden Primeau stopped 20-of-23 shots to collect his 10th win of the season and Mikhail Berdin had 17 saves for the Moose. 

The two sides will meet again in Winnipeg on Tuesday.
